COVID-19 Assistance Fund for Chapters

 

Dear NACE Members,

Education is an essential resource to our NACE members and is the backbone of our organization.The pandemic has turned our industry upside down and some are now facing financial challenges.

In response, I am launching the "COVID-19 Assistance Fund for Chapters" to benefit NACE chapters that are in need of financial assistance to bring education to their members post-pandemic. Many small chapters are currently struggling right now as they are not hosting in-person meetings. NACE New Orleans is very fortunate, as our current and former leaders have been fiscally responsible with our funds.

NACE New Orleans has generously offered to seed the fund with a $1500 ($10/member) donation and I am making an outreach to other financially strong NACE chapters and members to donate to continue the strengthening of our vibrant community.

My ask to NACE New Orleans members is to donate $10 to fund so we can double our gift to the Foundation of NACE. If we are able to reach $3000, that would be THREE (3) $1000 grants.

A generous, long-time NACE leader has offered to MATCH funds given to the Foundation of NACE by NACE New Orleans members up to $500, so please consider donating $10.

All donors will be recognized on the NACE New Orleans website, as well in a formal email!

Application Period: August 5 , 2020 - until
Award Size: Up to $1000
Eligibility for Multiple Awards: No. This is a one time award.

Approval Criteria:

  • Has not previously been awarded a COVID-19 Assistance Fund for Chapters grant

  • Chapter Balance of $TBD

  • Experiencing a financial strain as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak


Documentations Requirements:

  • Chapter Bank Statement - to see their financial health

  • Current Chapter Roster - to see how many members they have; evaluate IMPACT

  • Statement on why they need the grant

  • OUTCOME REPORT by 11/30/2021 

  • We want to ensure the chapter has enough time to book etc. Some parts of the US have not reopened yet.


Grant Distribution:

  • The non-profit entity will pay the speaker directly.


Funding Source for Assistance Fund:

  • NACE New Orleans Chapter - $1500 seed money


Once the fund is officially launched, we are looking at the following marketing initiatives, so we'd love to include your chapter's name and pledge:

  • NACE National e-blast- encourage donations but also application

  • NACE National's social media channels

  • NACE New Orleans' social media channels

  • Ask the NACE Marketing Committee to share with their networks

  • Post on Chapter Leaders FB group - encourage donations but also application

  • Outreach to NACE National Partners
